This exclusive offering is now available to the lodges of the Sabi Sand, Thornybush and Timbavati Reserves, as well as the surrounding areas. The R44 helicopter can pick you up wherever necessary, and charter you away to this half or full day luxury excursion. Immerse yourself in the waters and cool mountain breeze.
Chris and Joffers recently hosted guests on this epic crafted adventure and it was one of the most incredible experiences that they have had in the Lowveld region of South Africa. Not only do you get to fish in some incredible remote rivers that are flourishing with life, but getting to and from the rivers provides a breath taking experience in itself travelling by helicopter. The adventure is nothing short of spectacular!
Enjoy a half day or a full day of fishing take in the inspiring views and magical Finsbury valley. This is a very unique product, as you can be fetched from your lodge or even anywhere on game drive, then be whisked away to this hidden gem! Spot various animals from the air along your way to the fishing destinations, from zebra and giraffe to the wild horses and birds of prey. Once landing at the river, enjoy an ice cold mimosa with lovely snacks, whilst your fishing equipment gets set up for you. One you have had a moment to take in the beauty, it is then time to wet a line and catch those ever so beautiful Rainbow Trout.
The river provides multiple different areas to fish, lending itself to that of beginners or for the more experienced fishermen, the river has it all. No need to worry about what fly to use or what set up to use as our guides have already pre arranged it all that will give you the best possibility of catching. The anticipation is what gets you going just waiting for that strike and the words to be shouted “I’m on, grab the net”! It is Cath and release, however you are permitted to keep two fish that you can take back to the lodge so that the chef can prepare any way you like. No fish tastes better than the one you caught yourself!
After spending the day at the waters edge, it is then time to fly back home and sit quietly thinking about what an epic experience it is that you have just had. It truly is a magical experience like no other and what better way to see the beauty of the Lowveld.
